Health care is expensive, and many individuals and families are forced to forego health insurance in order to pay for rent, food, utilities, and transportation.

Surgery on Sunday, Inc. was founded in 2005 to address the unmet needs of Kentucky's uninsured working class by providing free outpatient surgery.

How It Works

Surgery On Sunday, Inc. works closely with community partners to provide critical surgical procedures to income-eligible individuals. Patients are referred to Surgery on Sunday, Inc. by our numerous partner agencies.

Our volunteer doctors, nurses, medical social workers, and office staff conduct a free surgical clinic once a month in Lexington at Surgical Care Affilates: Lexington Surgical Center, near St. Joseph's Hospital on Harrodsburg Road.
